Background & Company Overview
In August 2010 Lance and Tonya Almond opened Paragon Land Consultants, Inc. Over the past 3 years, Paragon has had 15 imagers and a crew of approximately 45 landmen who have worked or are currently working for the company. Our personnel have extensive experience in all areas of the business including Due Diligence, Imaging, Leasing, ROW Negotiations, Seismic Permitting, Title, and Oklahoma Corporation Commission work.
Paragon maintains a custom Microsoft Access Database and all of our brokerage work (Leasing, Permitting, and Title) is managed in this Database. This is key for our clients because work product can then be uploaded to your system upon completion. In addition, we work with a programmer who can handle any Database customization for our clients.
Lance and Tonya Almond
Lance has been working in the land business since 1993 and his wife Tonya since 1990. Tonya began working in oil and gas for a Norman broker named David Woodrow. In the beginnings of her career, Tonya then worked for Indian Oil for several years and subsequently for Jeff Miller and David Vaughn at Texhoma Land. Lance also began working for Texhoma Land while in College at the University of Oklahoma, and after graduating with a Business Degree in 1996, went to work full time for as a contract landman. During the next 8 years, Lance worked on various projects spanning Texas and Oklahoma for numerous clients.
In 2004, Lance and Tonya partnered with Jack Clark of J.C. Land Management, Inc. While working with J.C. Land, they were involved in Due Diligence, Imaging, Leasing, Seismic and Title Projects located in Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. J.C. Land’s primary clients over that period were Apache, Beta Shale, LLC, Chesapeake, Devon and several smaller companies. During this period J. C. Land had as many as 75 subcontractors working for the company.
As a partner in the company, Lance and Tonya oversaw and helped manage all prospects for their clients. During this period they were both heavily involved with Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC) work, worked with operators, and handled communications with purchasers in regards to revenue payments and joint interest billings. Lance has testified at the OCC for pooling, increased density, location exception and spacing hearings, and Tonya has done extensive curative, division order and revenue tracking.
